The course will be given as the SustAinimal Academy summer school. To get
the most out of the interactive discussions participation on-site in
Uppsala is strongly encouraged. Online participation will be facilitated.
The Summer School will expose the students to different perspectives on
sustainable food systems. The overall focus will be on primary food
production and the role of animal production. Each day will have one
perspective as a focus. The perspective of the day will be introduced by
lectures from key scientists in that area. Each perspective will have a
lecture focusing on the concepts and international perspective while
another lecture aims to focus on the Swedish aspects. During the
afternoon the course participants will discuss in groups and have the
opportunity to meet the course lecturers for detailed questions. Every
day the students will have time to reflect on their own research related
to the day’s perspective.
On the last day, the participants will give a presentation where they
relate the perspectives from each day to their own research. Other
participants will moderate each presentation and ask questions.
