Teaching Active E-learning (3 days)

A pedagogical workshop that aims to develop knowledge about and skills in applying active e-learning to lead synchronous and asynchronous teaching online. The workshop consists of two meetings, 09:00-12:00, with work before and between these meetings.

Target group
The target group is teachers at SLU who have taken Teaching in higher education (step one)

Aim
After completion of this workshop, course participants should be able to pedagogically evaluate and practically develop a course where a combination of synchronous and asynchronous methods are used. Workshop participants will be able to use different tools to record presentations and software to help manage and lead a course in a way that activates students.

Learning outcomes
After completing this workshop, participants are expected to be able to:

• Create activities for synchronous meetings in online courses
• Create recorded material to use in asynchronous teaching
• Find and adapt existing material such as films and written texts to use in distance teaching

Prerequisites
Teaching in higher education (step one) or equivalent
